While we're busying ourselves with arguing about how to replace the perfectly usable book gadget, Intel is right to point out that plenty of people, for whatever reason, can't read at all. Presenting its Reader as a necessity rather than luxury, Intel has shown off its vision for how visually impaired and dyslexic people can obtain access to the written word. Combining a text-scanning camera with a text-to-speech engine (powered by an Atom inside) is certainly no bad idea, but as the video beyond the break will show you, Intel's execution isn't exactly stellar. The arrhythmic, robotic reading from Alice In Wonderland left us shaken, but what floored us was the $1,499 asking price. Designers Kang Yong Soo and Kim Ji Hee have come up with a genius devise to let us listen to music wirelessly. They have designed the Bluetooth speakers that easily connect to our portable music devices or cellphones via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth speakers provide amplified, high-quality sound with an output of 2 watts.

The design specs are enhanced with the elegant U-shape of the speaker and the LED lighting at the end of the speaker. However, you’re not too fond of the U-shape, you can get rid of it via a hinge at the bottom, that allows you to place it anywhere in the room.

HTC Salsa is 109.1 x 58.9 x 12.3 mm large and weighs 120 grams. The large display is 3.4" and has a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. The cameras are two: one rear 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, VGA front and one for video calls.

The network connection uses the protocol HSPA 7.2 Mbps, but not without a WiFi connection. The 600 MHz processor is associated with 512 MB of RAM more than 512 MB of internal memory expandable with microSD cards. Inside is also the gyroscope, digital compass, the micro USB port and 3.5mm jack for headphones.

The battery, according to the manufacturer, allows a range of 540 minutes of talk time or 445 hours of standby time. The availability is set for June at a price not announced.

The functionality of design
You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronical pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better.Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.
How the user interacts
E-motions… It means electronical motions that 888 has. You can send and receive forms from / to friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart. Or you can send a dancing form to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This is the fun side of the product. If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.
What is unique ?
You can change the form of the body. Not just the color. And you can do the same by sending an e-motion to your friend.
The inspiration
The idea is that “the perfect form” does not exist. “Form follows you” We create the perfect form for each function.

Vestax Spin DJ System For Mac

Vestax today unveiled the Spin, which is a music mixer for the Mac. Measuring 14-inch x 9.5-inch x 1.5-inch and weighing 3.2 lbs, the gadget is actually a combination of a DJ control surface, an audio interface and a DJ software. The device connects to the MacBook or MacBook Pro via USB port allowing you to select songs from the iTunes library. 4 new 1DIN receivers from KENWOOD for Dec 2009

Kenwood has just announced their four models of 1DIN central unit scheduled to be on the market in the beginning of December in 2009. With these new models, connection with D.A.P such as i-Pod and external media such as USB are enabled.
U353 (Black) and U353 S (Silver) models have MP3/WMA/AAC support and their front panel is equipped with CD/USB receiver. Using the optional external interface cable “KCA-iP101” (retail price: 2,100 yen) for i-Pod/i-phone will allow you to control playback. The playback can also be controlled from the i-phone/i-pod side as well selecting the “hand-control mode”. They come with a price tag of 17,850 yen.
As to the other two models, E252 (Black) and E252 S (Silver), they have MP3/WMA support and have CD receiver coming with a price of 14,175 yen.
